How much does a physician website cost?
The short version
At RC Surgical Consulting a physician website costs $3,500 for up to 10 pages, $6,500 for up to 22 pages with a blog engine, or $8,500 for a practice of up to three physicians. Pages beyond the allowance are $250 each. After launch, the domain costs about $10 to $20 a year and hosting is free at the recommended tier. Monthly care plans are optional and start at $195.
What each package includes
| Package | Price | Pages | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foundation Site | $3,500 | Up to 10 | A physician who needs a credible site with the core condition pages |
| Complete Patient-Education Site | $6,500 | Up to 22, blog engine installed | A condition library with recovery pages and ongoing articles |
| Group and Practice Site | $8,500 | 16 shared plus 4 per physician | Up to three physicians; $750 for each additional physician |
Launch is included in all three: hosting, domain, security certificate, form notifications, analytics and the search consoles. There is no separate go-live fee. Pages beyond the allowance are $250 each on any tier, and a site past 50 pages is scoped and quoted on its own.
What drives the price
- Page count. Most of the work in a patient-education site is drafting and verifying pages, so the tiers follow the number of pages.
- Number of physicians. A group shares the condition library, so each added physician adds four pages rather than a second site.
- Interactive tools. A patient teaching deck engine is $1,500 to set up. Other tools are quoted before any work starts.
- What you already have. Existing handouts and consent forms shorten drafting, because the content starts from your own material.
Costs after launch
- Domain: about $10 to $20 a year, paid to the registrar in your name. Hosting is free at the recommended tier. RC does not mark either one up.
- Care plans: optional. Essential is $195 a month for one hour of updates; Complete is $395 for three hours. Multi-physician plans are $295 and $595. Cancel any month.
- Work beyond a plan’s hours: $125 an hour, quoted first.
- Sales tax: Texas treats website work as a taxable data processing service, so tax appears as its own line on the invoice.
How payment is scheduled
A build is paid 40% to begin, 40% on delivery of the first complete draft and 20% on your acceptance. Every build includes a 30-day stabilization window after launch that covers defect fixes and up to two hours of small changes at no charge.
If you already have a website
Start with the website evaluation, which is complimentary for physicians. It ends in a fixed quote for either a refresh, which runs $1,500 to $3,500, or a rebuild. If a refresh is enough, the report says so. See Should I refresh or rebuild my practice website?
The full price list is on the pricing page. Quotes hold for 30 days.
Questions physicians ask
Do I own the website?
Yes. The domain, hosting, analytics and search console are in your name from day one, and the finished site is yours on payment in full, with no buyout and no export fee.
Do I have to buy a monthly plan?
No. A site we build works on its own, and no care plan is required at any tier. Plans can be canceled any month.
